Honor Flight slight

Maybe I am a little more sensitive than most people on this, but I am really upset. Last year, I had the opportunity to accompany over one hundred WWII vets on a Colorado Western Slope Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., where they visited the WWII Memorial. It was an honor that I will never forget. I was able to talk to a number of these fine individuals and heard their stories. At the time, we were losing nearly 1,000 of these vets every day. Yesterday, a group on an honor flight from Mississippi arrived on a similar flight, only to be greeted at the memorial by barricades. They were actually threatened with arrest if they went beyond the barricades. Thanks to a stand-up Representative, Steven Palazzo, the vets simply stormed (if guys in wheelchairs can actually “storm”) the barricades and toured the site, in spite of this stupid, so-called government shutdown. Each and every one of you should be asking your representatives and senators where they were when these brave men and women were so shamelessly dishonored.
